About HIP

Hugo Improvement Partnership
The Hugo Improvement Partnership (HIP) and the Hugo Economic Development Group (HEDG) are groups of community members that are working hard together to make a difference in our community. We are proud of Hugo and share an ambitious vision for the future.

These “not for profit” groups consist of members from the business community, small business owners, community organizations, clergy, community members, educators and representatives from local government who all believe that collaboration is the path to success.

We are creative thinkers, we are innovators, we pull together, we seek solutions, we are positive, and we celebrate what Hugo has achieved while facing our difficulties head on. Above all, we intend to act on things that we believe will make a difference in our community.

For clarity of purpose, HIP tends to focus more on “events” ie: Ranch Rodeo, Hugo Fall Festival, and the Christmas Home Tour; while HEDG focuses more on “projects” i.e: the bronze statue, the trees and electric lights along downtown, the walking path, and the “Flag on the Hill.”

VISION Statement:
“An open minded and creative organization striving to improve and embrace the quality of life for Hugo.”

MISSION Statement:
“Bringing the community together to work hard,
dream and inspire.”
