May	Hugo Road Race -The Hugo Road Race is a 78-mile bicycle race which brings competitors in by the hundreds.  Since Eastern Colorado is known for it's WIND, this race, while fairly flat, offers quite a challenge. This event will be held on May 14th, 2011. This event has brought as many as 550 bike racers to Hugo and is sanctioned by the ACA (American Cycling Association). Bicyclists begin the race in Hugo, go south on Highway 109 to Karval then west to State Highway 71, then North to Highway 94, then East On Highway 94 , back to Highway 109, back north to arrive in Hugo again. June	Colorado Championship Ranch Rodeo -No bull riding here...this rodeo is more of a practical nature.  Sanctioned gy the Working Ranch Cowboys Association, this annual event features bronc riding, team branding, team sorting, and wild cow milking. This years event will be held on June 24-25, 2011, with an outside dance at 9 p.m. Saturday night.   This year, on June 25th, will be the 1st annual Jeremiah Ward Memorial Open Ranch Bronc Ride.  Please visit http://www.coloradochampionshipranchrodeo.com for details.
July	Independence Day -Summer Celebration in the park including watermelon eating contest, three-legged race, music, food, and more. -The Hugo Volunteer Fire Department presents a wonderful fireworks show each year at the Lincoln County Fairgrounds. This years event will be on July 4th,(of course) and will start right at 9:30, so be there or be square!  Please consider a contribution to the Fireworks Fund so we may be able to keep this tradition alive! August	Lincoln County Fair -The second full week in August brings the Lincoln County Fair.  Livestock, Rodeo, Farm Machinery, Home Brew Competition, Dutch Oven Cook-Off, and Greased Pig Catching...just to name a few. The fair will be held this year between August 8-13. Come and join in all the fun ! A parade will be held in downtown Hugo on main street Saturday morning at 10 a.m. with marching bands, floats, horses,vintage cars and vintage tractors. Plan to be there.
