Minutes read and approved from August meeting.

 

Financial report read and approved.

 

Old Business:

 

Christmas Tour of Homes: Project manager Margie Messer reported that the following homes are on this years tour: Brenda & Dale Toft’s, Linda & Ben Orrell’s, Jenny & Travis Nall’s, Juliet & Fred Lundy’s, and Jessica Borns & Mark Joblinske’s. Tour will be December 13th from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM. Tickets are printed and will be on sale at Osborne’s, Main street Mama’s, Steel Magnolias, Hugo Lumber and Pronghorn Country in Limon. Margie will be doing the advertisement for the tour.

 

Still trying to set up a photo opportunity so we can present  a plaque to M & M Car Wash.

 

Mowing-thanks to everyone who helped with the mowing all summer long. Thanks to CDOT for mowing from edge of highway to the fence in front of Hugo sign on west end of town.

 

Statue Project; Forms for the bronze statue base are completed. Looking at pouring base in March 2004. Wayne Nestor has stated he will help with the concrete work.

 

New Business:

 

Ben Orrell thanked several of our volunteers Pat and Jim Peterson, Tina Ludwig, Jennifer French and Avis Capraro, as well as all our members who devote countless hours to HIP. HIP is an organization that shows what a group can do to improve their community.

 

Working on a possible SHOP-N-HUGO pamphlet.

 

E-Filed Annual Report with Colorado Secretary of State.

 

Voted to close out the raffle account and the raffle license for the time being.

 

Voted to change the name of the HIP Scholarship to Jack Garner Memorial Scholarship, Jack was the model of what HIP is trying to accomplish. He will be missed.

 

December Activities:

                      Tree Walk at VFW (Pat Peterson) Dec 5th – 19th.

Parade of Lights Dec 6th, HIP will try and put together a float. Also VFW Aux will have a chili supper after the parade.

                      Late night shopping December 9th

                      UMW Bazaar Dec 5th

                      Christmas Home Tour Dec 13th

 

New sign is up on the walking path.  Thanks to Terry Blevins for his work on this project and thanks to the Town of Hugo for installing the sign.

Town of Hugo is trying to put together a community assessment project for next year, really need HIPs involvement.  HIP is eager to support the effort.
